Tim, Rachel and Joy (17) have been part of the City Church for about eight years. They love this worshiping community and are grateful to be a part of life with you all! Tim also serves as Executive Director for Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation, an international ministry focused on promoting a movement of reconciliation and healing around the world.

Whether it is updating their older South Minneapolis home, leading reconciliation retreats, or serving ice cream and wiping tables at a City Church Block Party, he loves watching the process of things becoming more whole. The Uthmanns also like to play board games, seek beauty by kayak or bike, hang out with their dog and kittens, and generally be together.

Jana is completing her fourth year serving on the board, where she currently serves as Vice Chair and Secretary. She has been an active member of the church for 14 years.

Jana and her husband, Brian, are originally from Pennsylvania and moved to Minnesota in 2004. They currently reside in Edina and have four children. Jana values that City Church is at the heart of a vibrant community, has witnessed God’s work in powerful ways, and looks forward to seeing His faithfulness in the years ahead.

Mark, and his wife, Marie, have attended City Church for nearly 17 years and recently celebrated their 37th anniversary. They live in Richfield and have four adult children and two grandkids!

Mark is enjoying retirement which allows for more volunteering at City Church and increased travel, while attempting to improve his golfing skills. Mark is seeking to serve for his third term on the board.

“As board treasurer, I can say that it is has been enjoyable and inspiring to work with such amazing and passion- ate leaders. I also marvel at the love and generosity of our congregation.

Can’t wait to see what God has in store for our church in the coming years.”

Cindy was trained as a social worker and invested herself serving inner city children and families for many years. She recently retired from the Food and Nutrition program at the Department of Education. Cindy lived in the Longfellow neighborhood for about 20 years, then moved back to her childhood home in Richfield, and from there continues to find ways to reach out locally and globally.

Cindy has been at City Church for 19 years and currently co-leads a growth group and she can often be found downstairs in the kitchen. “I’m excited to see what the future of City Church holds. I have enjoyed seeing the energy and involvement of people and look forward to seeing what God has in store for our church.”

Kevin and his wife Kim attended the very first “official" service City Church had – on Easter Sunday 2005 at Armatage School. They quickly connected with the teaching, the fellowship, and the community. City Church became their new church home.

Since then, Kevin has served in various roles at City Church (including four years on the church board and 15 years as a Velocity volunteer). Kevin and Kim have three children, daughter Jemma (24), and sons Aidan (20) and Micah (17).

Phil and his wife, Anita, have attended City Church for seven years. You will often see them in their roles as greeters welcoming all attendees!

Their connection to City Church really took off when they joined a growth group led by Sarah and Tim Ronayne and in the Sunday Morning Communities. “It is truly inspiring to walk alongside this passionate, engaged, loving group who call City Church home.”

Phil and Anita reside in Uptown Minneapolis. They enjoy time up north at the family cabin during the summer and in scuba diving adventures in the winter (not in Minnesota!).

Phil and Anita and have two sons, Riley (32) and Spencer (27).

Rachel and her husband, Erik, moved into the Lynnhurst neighborhood four years ago and were hoping to find a community church to attend. Shortly after the birth of their second child they started attending City Church and felt so fortunate to find a church community they loved within walking distance of their house.

Rachel has been involved in various ministries, including serving on the board, as a community group leader, and on the outreach and the CityKids teams. In her free time, she loves to go for walks with her family and friends and is up for pretty much any game or activity.

“I have loved seeing God at work at City Church these past few years and am honored to serve on the board and come alongside others to continue to do His Kingdom work.”
